Who we are
We are the Democratic Executive Committee of Bay County. We represent the
official Democratic Party within Bay County, Florida. Our members are registered Democrats who serve as Precinct Committeepersons and grass roots organizers. We engage with volunteers, local clubs and caucuses and the Florida Democratic Party to enact positive political change to improve the lives of the people in the Florida Panhandle.

Making Florida Affordable for All
Making Florida Affordable for All
Due to the influx of new professionals and expansion of tourism as Bay County grows, we know everyday costs have greatly increased for the working and middle class in Bay County. Vice President Harris has made it a top priority to bring down costs and increase economic security for all Americans. We support her plan to cut taxes for more than 100 million Americans and expand the Child Tax Credit to provide a $6,000 tax cut to families with newborn children.
Vice President Harris has made a commitment to build 3 million new homes and make home ownership affordable for first-time home buyers with a $25,000 down-payment support. She plans to cut red tape for building new housing that is greatly needed here in Bay County.
Skyrocketing property insurance and the escalating cost of living are placing severe financial burdens on hardworking families. Florida’s homeowners’ insurance crisis requires a comprehensive federal solution. A federal policy for natural disasters would stabilize the insurance market, providing reliable and affordable coverage for homeowners.

Bay County Democrats are proud of our military town, and know we have a sacred obligation to care for our nation’s service members, veterans, and their families. Vice President Harris and President Biden have delivered the most significant expansion of benefits and services for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances in more than 30 years. A Harris-Walz administration will work to end veteran homelessness, invest in mental health and suicide prevention efforts, and eliminate barriers to employment for military and veteran families. Unlike Donald Trump and Project 2025's plan to privatize the VA, we Democrats are fighting to protect it.

Lowering the Cost of Health Care
Floridians deserve access to quality affordable health care. The Biden-Harris Administration will work to expand and strengthen the Affordable Care Act and make permanent the Biden-Harris tax credits that have lowered health care costs by about $800 a year for millions of Americans. As President, Vice President Harris will build on the Administration’s successes in bringing down prescription drug prices for Medicare beneficiaries, including capping insulin at $35 a month, and accelerate negotiations with pharmaceutical companies to cover more drugs and lower prices for all Americans. Bay County Democrats are fighting to expand Medicaid to provide healthcare to even more working class families.

Safeguarding our Fundamental Freedoms
We support candidates who will fight to safeguard the rule of law and protect Americans’ rights and freedoms, including voting rights, the right to love who you love openly and with pride, and reproductive freedom.
Protecting Reproductive Freedom
All Floridians deserve the freedom to make personal medical decisions, free of government intrusions. We support voting YES on the citizen-led ballot initiative, Amendment 4 to “Limit Government Interference with Abortion”. This non-partisan initiative seeks to remove from these personal decisions by creating a constitutional amendment that explicitly blocks the implementation of laws that prohibit, delay, or restrict abortion access.
Stopping Project 2025
Project 2025 is a blueprint by Republicans for a second Trump term. Project 2025 calls for banning abortion nationwide, restricting access to contraception and IVF, and forcing states to report on women’s miscarriages and abortions. If elected, Donald Trump can act with immunity given by the MAGA majority Supreme Court he created and ignore the U.S. Constitution, rule of law and human rights. Project 2025 would consolidate his powerallowing him to serve as a dictator on “Day One”, and bring the Department of Justice and the FBI under his total control to go after his perceived opponents. This plan further seeks to replace qualified government employees with extreme MAGA loyalists, gut the Dept of Education, defund K-12 education, put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block, and end the Affordable Care Act.

Many Floridians rely on Social Security and Medicare. Our Democratic candidates will work to protect and strengthen these essential services against attacks by Donald Trump and his extreme allies.

We support providing opportunities for quality and affordable education for all and increased pay for teachers. Vice President Harris will fight to ensure parents can afford high-quality child care and preschool for their children, and strengthen public education and training as a pathway to the middle class.
Environment
Environment
We recognize that environmental and economic strength go hand-in-hand. As the home to the "World's Most Beautiful Beaches" and a major tourist area, Bay County relies on clean air and water as a natural resource. Our seaside properties are vulnerable to rising sea levels and hurricanes as proven by Hurricane Michael. Environmental protection and mitigation are imperative to the maintenance of our way of life.

To make our communities safer, we must take action to address gun violence. We need to support our law enforcement officers and ensure they have the resources needed to keep our communities safe. Lawmakers must also do their part to help keep Floridians safe.
